Oh, Mommies!!

I am a mommy.....so of course I think my kids are just super cute! You know you're a mommy when you chase people down at work to show them new pictures of your kids. I am sure the school psychologist, the parent liaison, the dyslexia teacher, my principal, and the teacher I am mentoring weren't super excited when I showed them the pictures we had done....but I was too stinkin' excited to share. It's amazing how you love your own mom even more when you have kids. It's crazy to imagine how much you love your own kids and to know your mom went through that and still loves you that much even when you're a big ol' grown up. But since I shared pictures with everyone at work, I know you don't want to be left out...so here's a sneak peek at our family pictures we had done with our family friend, Amiee over at Aj's Expressions. She did a great job since it was Ella's nap time and the kids were going just about crazy! I was amazed we would have any pics based on how "energetic" Ella was. Grayson, on the other hand, was just smiling and posin' away!

The weekend before Halloween we enjoyed a lot of fun fall activities. We made a visit to the Scarecrow festival, went to the Harbor where our church had a booth, did pictures, went to the kids' school festival which was so adorable, and then headed to the music minister's house to pass out gospel tracts and candy on Halloween night. We had so much fun and enjoyed fellowship with our sweet church members.

I am not going to lie....I was a little emotional this year. Since Grayson was born we have always celebrated Halloween (which we actually don't celebrate the scary stuff) with Megan and Josh at their house and our whole family would go over there. Since he has passed away this is the first year without that tradition and it just made me really miss Josh and that time we all spent together.

But we did enjoy trying new things this year and I think the kids had a blast!

I won't even lie, I am looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothin' this month and just enjoying time cuddling with our little family. The kids are still enjoying basketball and gymnastics...we are going to take a break in December to enjoy all of the CHRISTMAS fun stuff!!! Grayson made his first basket on the "big goal" 2 weeks ago.....he was super proud!

Yikes! It's almost 11 and it's a Monday night, I am getting wild being up this late...haha! I better head to bed but y'all have a blessed week!!

Fall is in full swing!

I am so tired but I just had to blog. I get this fear that I will get so behind and then have to put crazy amounts of pictures to catch up on all that we have been up to (I am getting this turned into a book at the end of December, like a family yearbook). So, sorry y'all but I am totally going to post tons of pics today. We have just been so busy and having fun!

I feel like Fall is in full swing. We have went to a football game, decorated for fall, had a fall play date, made one visit to the pumpkin patch, a cold and rainy visit to the zoo, and so much more! We have a busy rest of the month, too and I look forward to every second. I could not ask for more right now because God has blessed us more than we could ever deserve.

One thing that has been keeping us busy is starting to work on our house. It's off the market (as I posted last time) and I feel super overwhelmed with all the things we have to do. We never did much to the house because we always thought that we would move after a couple of years but after having an offer the first 3 days it was on the market, it not working out, and then not finding anything we really are in love with...we decided to stay put but we do want to make our house a home (crazy to say after living here for 6 years). But it is becoming a nice little hobby that Joey and I enjoy....even if he is doing all of the work. This week he spray painted all of the light fixtures (all the small ceiling ones throughout the house) and our two chandeliers a bronze/brown color (Pinterest). He did great and I must say that I am extremely impressed!! When we moved into this house when it was brand new, it had a nickel finish we weren't crazy. So our next project is to re-do the kitchen light and paint. So I am excited to see how it will all turn out and we are not sure if we will stay here forever or movet but right now it seems God wants us here and we will just follow His lead.

The kiddos are great. Grayson started basketball and is really enjoying it. It is challenging for him because he doesn't have those fine motor skills to dribble but he is sure working on it! He is doing great at daycare and has been writing up a storm and he loves drawing me sweet pictures! Melts.my.heart.

Ella has been being Ella. Sassy, way older than 2 in her mind, and as sweet as can be. She has really become interested in clothes and shoes and accessories. Which is so fun to see her little personality come out but can be hard if she picks out anything crazy looking! :)
