Friday Favorites!

Now I won't lie, this will be a whole lot of randomness but they are things that through the past couple of weeks that I have just thought..."Wow, I love this!"

The first is the book the Donkey Who Carried a King. Grayson and I LOVED this book. It has such a good message about being humble and faithful. You can find it HERE.

Y'all know I love Starbucks. Something about that cup just warms my heart. Now that it's getting cooler, my favorite drink to get is a venti nonfat latte with 3 splendas. Talk about a good dose of caffeine!

When I am at home, I love using my Keurig. I heart Starbucks' Breakfast Blend K-Cups with the best creamer ever....Natural Bliss sweet cream. This with 2 stevias is perfection.  I like this creamer because it doesn't have a weird after taste like most creamers do...at least to me. I even put this creamer in my nightly cup of hot green tea.

 

Lately, I have been enjoying a hot bath, some tea, and good music. I have found that it is just an amazing way to end my day after the kiddos are asleep. I found these amazing bath salts and it did not irritate my super sensitive skin. It smells amazing! It's called Village Naturals Aches and Pains Relief. It is available in bath salts or an oil. 

 And if it seems crazy to think Halloween is right around the corner, I have been thinking about Christmas. Ella is wanting a big girl jewelry box and fell in love with this one at Pottery Barn Kids last time we were there. I love how classic it is and the fact that it can be monogrammed. It plays music and has the classic ballerina inside. It would be a great piece to pass down in the future!

October, Wait!

October is almost over and it has been one busy month. It has been full of cool weather, lots of baking, and many memories. I swear in the past month, I have learned a lot and have reflected more than I probably have in my whole life. I have been praying for direction and guidance in many areas and I am so thankful for God's lead and also sweet family and friends who listen! It is nothing big or major, so no worries....just learning each day!

So, I guess I will start off with our visit to the State Fair of Texas. It was Ella's first time and probably Grayson's first to remember it. We wanted to go and have some good ol' fashion fun. We didn't want to spend tons of money and we surprisingly didn't. We were amazed at the kids' favorite thing.....the arts/textiles. They absolutely loved seeing all of the different things that won awards.

 They also enjoyed their first Fletcher's corny dog and seeing Big Tex which they were amazed by! We had a great time and it could not have been a more gorgeous day and the plus is that Nana came with us!

The rest of the weekend, we tried to get the kiddos to focus on cleaning the playroom. I swear I don't know where all those toys come from. My principal was telling me about a blog post she saw on facebook that talks about non-toy gifts for kids. I am SO about that this year! We also only do 3 gifts for each kiddo but I will blog about that closer to Christmas. You can find the blog post (non-toy ideas) from Raising Memories HERE.

 Last weekend, we celebrated my Aunt Cindy's birthday over at my parents' house. We ate cake, cuddled Liam, and after that headed to Kroger to get momma Starbuck's, a pumpkin, a mum, and some ingredients to bake some goodies! Ella also learned about expressions and what a nice look and not so nice look are. Ha!

Friday night, Grayson and I had a night out and headed to the Heath High and North Forney high school game. He got to meet my principal/sweet friend's son and they had the best time and us, mommies, did too!

I attempted to take some Fall pics on the porch and let's just say...this is "keepin' it real." One was more than happy to take a pic and the other...not so much.

In between, we have enjoyed sweet time together, more baking, cuddles after bath time which is my fav, time with friends, and school stuff! I am pretty sad that October is almost over, it is one of my favorite months!!!

Sum It Up: It's Finally Fall!!!

I can't believe it is finally Fall! In Texas, I will be dressed for summer for a few more weeks, I am sure. I haven't even made the attempt to switch the family's clothes out just yet although Ella is just so ready for boots and jackets!

Last time I blogged, we had just celebrated all of the Acker September birthdays! That weekend,  I had felt pretty sick and ended up only going to work half a day. Then, I ended up visiting Care United AGAIN that night to take Grayson because he was sick. Seeing the kiddos or Joey sick just breaks my heart.

The next day, I stayed home with Grayson and it was kind of nice because I felt like I needed some rest, too. Ella came in that morning saying her eye burned, she couldn't move her arm, and her leg was itching....so she stayed home with us, too. Geez!!! We enjoyed movies and laying around in pj's. I even got to make a yummy breakfast that morning (my fav spinach, mushroom, egg white omelette) along with my next fav drink beside coffeee...hot green tea with milk and stevia!! Mmmmm. Joey even reminded me of something important that day! I guess he knows even if I am home with a poor sick boy and a "dramatic" little girl that I am still bound to spend money! Ha!

The next couple of days were full of bedtime stories and  celebrating me and the kids' favorite guy's birthday!

My students just amazed me last week and made me remember why I love my sweet middle school babies and how important it is to celebrate the little things!

Grayson was so excited to rep his Daddy and Lala's school for homecoming!!! I must admit he is a pretty cute Jackrabbit!

Thursday night, my sweet friend Liz and I headed to our first Junior League meeting. It was so fun and we hope to check out more. It was a very informative session and it sounds like they do some amazing things! Then we headed to Fireside Pies and oh.my.yum. I swear that was the best pizza and salad I have ever had in my entire life. Ever.....

This past weekend is when it got busy! I helped throw a shower for my sweet sis in law! We went to my precious niece's homecoming game, and I loved spending time with my family!

Sunday, we had some errands to run and it was nice to spend time together since Ella and I were off by ourselves doing girl stuff Saturday. We headed to Knox street and I fell in love. I loved the Kate Spade, Pottery Barn, and Starbucks all in one place!!! We headed to Pottery Barn to make a return and check out some bedding for Grayson. I noticed a soda fountain shop across the street and we hope to bring the kids there soon!  Then we headed to Northpark for lunch and shopping! No fits, no arguing, and Grayson found shoes we could both agree on at Nordstrom so I think it all worked out! Ha!

And while I am blogging today (my fair day), I might as well blog about the week so far.

I was told I looked like Cheryl Burke again this past week so I posted a little side by side pic on facebook. I had a lot of people agree. Must be because we are both Filipino. Now if I could have her figure...that would be sweet!

Grayson came home today and decided the best thing to do was take his shirt off and shoot bugs with his nerf gun! #boymom

Then he told me about his friend that is a cricket and how he has ears!

I may have had a mini nervous breakdown this week and used my friend Liz's coping mechanism....

The kids looked for crickets....again!

The negative of different fair days is that we can't go together. The positive is Ella and I brought Joey and Grayson lunch!

Grayson wanted an old school popcorn/movie night....while wearing a cape of course. I may have screamed and ran....when I made the popcorn. It was my first time!
