A sad day for my closet....

Wow, I actually am blogging on a weekday morning. I stayed home today because I made a visit to the dr. last night and I have been having some ankle problems and not able to run lately. My nurse recommended that I have it checked out. They did some x-rays and the bone looked fine and the dr. said she was pretty sure it was a ligament issue. She said if it continues then I should get an MRI.So I have to wear an ankle brace for 2 weeks(I can walk fine though) and I have an anti-inflammatory med, and here is the worse part of all....NO heels for 2 weeks. I have never went that long since high school without heels. It makes my closet sad...I told Joey that I will need to do some shopping and that the dr. ordered it which she did! : ) I know I am a little stinker. I am fine to go to work today but I am trying to head to a rheumatologist to check out if its arthristis because I tested positive/high for ANA. But it's no biggie...except the heel part.

Let me catch you up on this past weekend!
Friday night Grayson had plans to spend the night with his Nana and Papa. It was Joey's birthday weekend and we decided to go have a date night....with Ella. It was really nice because with the second kiddo you don't get to enjoy that time like you did with your first one. We headed to the Harbor and it was a gorgeous night full of dinner, ice cream, and walking around the lake...and of course Joey witnessing.

 Grayson and Joey headed to Lowe's this weekend for the Build and Grow which they have every 2 weeks. We try to go to these when we remember because it's great Daddy-Son bonding time. We really try to do things with the kids as an individual when we can. They had a lot of fun!!!

And of course, Ella went to gymnastics. I am ordering her some gymnastics leotards on Etsy that a friend told me about..... but she wants to wear this ballet one my mom gave her...but she is still loving it!!

And on Sunday we celebrated Joey's 28th birthday! My parents had made food on Saturday and his parents had a mini b-day party which he loved!

While we were over at his parents, he ran to Lowes to buy some landscaping stuff. He surprised ME by putting new mulch in the front and back and planting new flowers in the planters and some for the back porch (I didn't get a pic). I thought that was pretty stinkin' sweet since it was his birthday!

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to the best husband and father to our kiddos in the world. You are so sweet (and cute...love those dimples) and we are thankful for such a Godly leader for our family who always puts us before himself. We love you so, so, so MUCH!

If you know me, since I have been younger I have always been obsessed with 3 things: 50's/50's fashion, pearls, and New York City....well I found a video on youtube (it is kind of long) that has all those things and I just love watching it! Happy Birthday, Grayson Luke!!!

I missed writing yesterday on Grayson's real birthday because it was a hectic day!!! I had planned on taking a half day so I could take him to his FIVE year check up. That is still so weird to say that he is 5!

Since we had his party this past weekend, I wanted to try to do little things to make his real birthday special. I took him to the donut store before school and told him to get anything he wanted! Of course, Ella wanted to also. She was very happy it was big brother's special day because she got to enjoy it, too! Here he is...still so sleepy.....

Is it just me or does he look bigger? My heart just melts when I look at this little guy...or should I say big guy.

I picked him up from daycare and they said he didn't seem to feel well. I told him we were heading to the doctor anyways. I got there and they couldn't even do his check up because he had a fever, swollen glands, swollen tonsils, a super red throat and ears. He kept saying, "Mommy, I can't be sick on my birthday!" The dr. gave us some stronger antibiotics (he had just went in for an ear infection last week). For dinner, I asked Grayson where he wanted to go...of course...he said McDonalds which I am not a big fan of but we seem to frequent there quite often for the kiddos. We got our food and he said he wanted to leave right away and not play.....so when we got home and picked up his meds, we set up a movie in his room (the kids don't have tv's in their rooms, we don't allow them so that our family is together in one room) and Nana brought over a cupcake. It was a sad little birthday but he enjoyed it! So before I end this post, let me tell you a little about our Grayson Luke.....

2 months

He is the sweetest boy ever. He loves chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce. He love puppies and kittens even though he is allergic. He always thinks of others first. He is creative. He is super smart and loves solving addition and subtraction problems. He enjoys reading his Bible. He loves praying and learning more about God.

He loves to play outside and ride his bike. His favorite color is blue. He loves hot cocoa all year long. He is the best big brother. He loves his family. He has the sweetest blue eyes. He thinks ice cream makes everything better (mommy does too). He loves doing special things with just him and Daddy.

9 months

He always wants to make sure others are okay. He likes organization. His favorite team is Alabama. He wants to be a teacher when he grows up. He plays school in his room at least once a week. He loves doing "homework." He LOVES visiting Nana and Papa's. He likes to run free at Mimi's and Papa's. He love his little sister and is very protective of her. He loves his cousins so much. He is an absolute blessing from the Lord above!

Party Time!!!

Oh Fall seems to be here and I am loving it! It has been in the 80's which is cool to us Texans...haha! I have already had a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte and the kids and I finished decorating for fall and I gave them a pumpkin cookies afterwards. I know fall hasn't officially started but I just get so stinkin' excited. I even attempted to make a wreath...I know it's not fancy but it was fun to make and I just need to figure out how to straighten out the ribbon when it's hanging. Tips???

 

The kids are doing great and are keeping us busy. We decided to put Ella in gymnastics and she loves it!! I just love watching her. Grayson wants to wait to do indoor soccer but Joey and him keep busy with their hobbies. Grayson is so excited about going to Lowes build and grow to make a firetruck this weekend. If you have a kiddo check it out, he's always enjoyed doing those! Other than that, Grayson and Ella just love hanging around and getting into mischief.

This weekend, we celebrated Grayson's 5th birthday at Chuck E Cheese. His real birthday is Tuesday so watch for a highly emotional post full of his baby pictures...haha...but really! We just invited family and I am glad it wasn't too big because it was super crowded!!! But Grayson enjoyed it and that's what matters. I must say that his little sister took 20 minutes and a couple different outfits to get ready....Oh.my.word!

 

 

Grayson was surrounded by his favorite people, ate his favorite food (pizza), and even though his cake wasn't ready and we had to get an emergency back up cake....he still loved it!!!

The only speed we know...

I would have to say that the only speed this family knows is SUPER FAST and busy. Long gone are the days where I can blog twice in a week and talk about how I don't have much to do. Haha! This past week felt fast and furious but hey y'all....I love it! I think this is quite a reoccurring theme in my blog.

I guess I can start with work. I am lovin' being a counselor and I am also a mentor to a new Kindergarten teacher which is so fun because I have been able to spend a lot of time in her class guiding her. If you're on fb you probably saw a post awhile back about how much I love Kindergarten so this is a little piece of both worlds. I have so much going on this month and am so eager being able to start the year off. I am heading up a lot of new programs at our campus and am learning so much. The drive can stink a bit but I am finding it as a nice little way to get in some quiet time so I can focus on the fam when I get home! I got a new tote for work that I just have to tell you about. At first, I thought it was HUGE (which it is) but I love it because I carry just about everything to work! Just look up Mimi Made It Designs on facebook. She has tons of patterns and colors.

Last weekend was a nice break to being busy. We had a three day weekend and it was full of family, which makes my heart happy. Joey's side of the family does September birthdays. Joey, Grayson, his grandma, and uncle all have September birthdays. Grayson loved.every.minute. of.it. Joey had fun but he doesn't like a lot of attention but he did like the cake! : )

Of course, Sweet Sawyer made an appearance.

We also spent some time at my parents. Grandma was there and she enjoyed getting lots of hugs from Grayson, Ella, and Vann.

We enjoyed a great day at church which is always fabulous. We are so thankful for God placing us there.

Then we spent Monday cleaning and decorating for fall and doing some Pinterest projects. I made a wreath which I need to take a pic of (but its not that great).

Then this morning, Grayson woke up asking for eggs, bacon, and pancakes...oh...and hot chocolate. So even though I couldn't eat it I thought Joey and the kids could take care of it.

And then Miss Ella tried out a gymnastics class and I think it may be her thing....she is so bouncy and she smiled the whole time. We will definitely be going back!!
