Whoah, whoah, whoah...6 Years?????

Wait for it.....yes, I am already in tears this morning. I  knew I would have some overly emotional post today...haha! I woke up about 5:00 a.m. to get ready for the day. I am off today because we are meeting with the builder for the new house and luckily it's Grayson's birthday so I am sooo excited to bring him lunch for his birthday at school. It is one of those things I have always looked forward to since I was a teacher. I woke up wanting to blog about our sweet boy's birthday and from the moment I started saving the first picture...it hit me! He is 6!!! For some reason that number just gets to me because it seems so big!! I usually don't cry about birthdays but for some reason this one is major. I also was just in tears looking at the memories we have made with the kids to this point and how the Lord has truly blessed us to be able to do things with the kids I never thought we could and go places I never thought we could go...it is just amazing how God has done this!!

So...today...we wish a Happy 6th Birthday to our sweet Grayson Luke!!!

 

I don't even know where to start. Grayson Luke, you are just an absolute blessing from above. You always think of others even since you were tiny. You have the kindest heart. There are times that I am amazed by how giving you are and how you always want to give things away, even things you love, to other kids who don't have much at all. I love your hugs and kisses and how you are always so concerned about everyone in our family. I see so much of your Daddy in you and how you put others first always. 

You can be so silly but you're also so much like a grown up at times...we love to see your silly side! You already talk about God and how much you love him and have already shown the desire to tell others about God. I love how you can't go to sleep without saying your prayers because the day doesn't seem complete!

 We love how creative you are and how you create your own books and love to read them over and over and share them with others. Nana says that this is very much like your Daddy!! You have the sweetest blue eyes and the cutest smile. You are such a caring brother and always watch out for Ella. I love how excited you are to see your cousins Olivia, Vann, and Sawyer and how you can't wait for your new baby cousins Jansen and Liam to get here!! It is adorable how you have been setting some of your old things aside wanting to save them for the new babies joining the family!

So we pray that you have nothing but the best in life and that God is leading you every step of the way. We are so blessed to call you our son and love you to pieces. Happy Birthday, Grayson Luke!

Big Changes!!!

I can't get over the fact that the second week of school is done!! So much has happened in such a small amount of time. First off.....Grayson started Kindergarten!!! There are no words to describe how you feel when your first child goes to Kindergarten. It's exciting, scary, and sad all rolled into one! As a past Kindergarten teacher, I have looked forward to the day my baby would start school. I am so excited for him and this school year but it's a little sad knowing they are already so big! We are blessed that he has a wonderful teacher. Here are some pictures from Meet the Teacher Night and the First Day!!!

Ella also "officially" went back to school AND got her ears pierced. Oh.my.word! It all just happened at once.

We have a contract on our house as I mentioned before and the appraisal came back great so we are sitting, wishing, and waiting. We hope to close in the next 2 weeks so we have been packing up (please pray it all works out and goes smooth). Our house no longer looks like a home and it is pretty bittersweet. We are going to miss the home that we had built as newlyweds and brought each one of our babies home to. Joey was saying the other night that this is where they took their first steps which made me even more emotional...haha. On the other hand, we are soooo excited to build our new home and make new memories there. There are so many factors to worry about like....will the interest rate shoot so high that we will be in a predicament but at the same time we know God is in control and fully trust in Him. We also had the fun of picking stuff out for the new house. It was super exciting! Joey was so super sweet that he just let me pick it all out!! Love that guy! Here are some of the options we I picked out. Luckily, we had the same vision.

This past weekend, we celebrated Grayson's birthday and I must say it was the easiest, nicest party ever!!! We had it at a neat ice cream shop where we live and everyone loved it!! Most importantly, the birthday boy loved it!!! We also learned that he loved reading each card which I thought was so cute and thoughtful!

Then today we celebrated the Acker birthdays (Joey, his uncle, grandma, and Grayson...again). It was a blast!

So in between parties, packing, and school....we have just been counting our blessings and enjoying each day we are blessed with each other and our sweet family and friends.
